BMW X3 service brakes consist of hydraulic brake calipers and rotors, one at each wheel. When the brake pedal is pressed, brake fluid is forced out of the brake master cylinder and through the brake lines to each brake caliper. Pistons in the calipers push out and clamp brake pads against the brake rotors (or discs), thus slowing down the vehicle.
Front Brake Pad Light on 2019 X3. Of course service is due right after the 36 month service plan expired. I know that brake pads arenβt covered under it anyway, but Iβm frustrated with how much upselling they tried to do when I took it in for the oil change today. Before going in, the brake pad countdown notification showed up in the idrive.
My opinion is they never changed the oil and merely reset the oil change interval light. BMW's interval is mileage or date, whichever comes first. The "01/2022" tells me they reset it in Jan 2021. The "600 miles" tells me the sensor STILL detects dirty oil. E.
Turn the ignition to the off position and wait another 30 seconds. Turn the ignition on but do not start the engine. Hold down the odometer or trip reset button until the service menu appears. The button is typically left side of the speedometer, and the service menu should appear after holding the button for about ten seconds. Use the reset
Step 2: Press and hold the button on the instrument cluster that resets the odometer. Step 3: Continue to hold the button down until you see the microfilter or oil symbols. You should now be able to access the service menu. Step 4: Press the reset button repeatedly until the warning symbol for low brake fluid shows.
